12. What is the Difference Between Using an Attorney and   Using a Consultant to Prepare My Application?

An attorney provides advice and representation on your application using the legal standards required by the Government.  Non-attorney consultants  ("packagers") have neither the authority nor the expertise to provide legal advice or representation.  If you encounter a legal challenge to your application, a non-attorney consultant cannot help you.  Federal Access takes a legal approach in preparing your application.  At prices that often match or beat the services offered by non-attorney consultants, we conduct a thorough legal review of your documentation and commit to helping you if the SBA asserts administrative roadblocks to your eligibility.  In short, we give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing that you are getting the best possible professional assistance throughout the application process.

13. What If My Application Gets Rejected by the SBA?

You have two choices if you wish to pursue your case after rejection.  You may either appeal your application to the SBA or wait a minimum of twelve months before re-applying.  Contact us for a consultation regarding an appeal to the SBA.

14. The SBA Has Referred Me to a "Private Certifier" for Assistance with the SDB Application Process.  What is a Private Certifier?

A Private Certifier is an organization or business concern approved by U.S. Small Business Administration to determine whether firms are owned and controlled by one or more individuals claiming social and economic disadvantage.  Federal Access was approved as an SBA Private Certifier in 1999.  Click here for more information about Private Certifiers.
