DoD EMALL.
This site functions as a single entry point for DoD customers to find and acquire off-the-shelf, finished goods items from the commercial marketplace. The DoD EMALL offers cross-store shopping for the purpose of comparison pricing and best value decision making. Vendors on DoD EMALL meet FAR requirements so there is no need to verify that vendors meet statutory requirements. The DoD EMALL is constructed with three corridors: parts and supplies, information technology, and
training. Use the Supplier's Corner to learn how to
about getting your products on the EMALL. Also, read the Supplier

Subcontracting
Directory. DoD requires major prime contractors and subcontractors receiving contracts valued over $500,000 ($1 million for construction) to develop plans and goals for subcontracting with small business and small disadvantaged business. This requirement generates a significant subcontracting opportunity market. In FY 1997, for example, DoD prime contractors awarded $54.4 billion in subcontracts of which $22.5 (or 41.4%) was awarded to small business firms. This Directory provides a list of contracts to assist small businesses in accessing subcontracting opportunities.

Acquisition
Initiatives. The Office of Acquisition Initiatives
website provides information on the latest developments in
acquisition reform within the Department of Defense. This office works in partnership with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Departments, Defense Agencies, and private industry to manage implementation of acquisition initiatives and ensure continuous acquisition improvement, while achieving the business objectives of the DoD acquisition process.

Procurement
Statistics. Maintained by the Statistical
Information Analysis Division of the DoD Directorate for
Information Operations and Reports, these procurement information
pages provide an overview of DoD spending with the private
sector. The site is divided into five areas: (1) procurement
and assistance trends, (2) procurement statistics, (3) geographic
statistics, (4) product and service statistics, and (5)
procurement and assistance guidance and data.

Issuances. A DoD Directive is a broad policy document containing what is required by legislation, the President, or the Secretary of Defense to initiate, govern, or regulate actions or conduct by the DoD Components within their specific areas of responsibilities. The DoD Directives System was established to provide a single, uniform system of DoD issuances and directive-type memorandums used to convey DoD policies, responsibilities, and procedures. The DoD Directives System provides for the orderly processing, approval, publication, distribution, internal review, and records management of DoD Directives, DoD Instructions, and DoD Publications.

Inspector
General. The Department of Defense (DoD) Inspector General serves as an independent and objective official in DoD responsible for conducting, supervising, monitoring and initiating audits and investigations relating to the programs and operations of the DoD. The Inspector General provides leadership and coordination and recommends policies for activities designed to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the administration of, and to prevent and detect fraud and abuse in, such programs and operations.
