FEDERAL EXECUTIVE BRANCH :: The U.S. Constitution vests in the President the power of the Executive Branch.

"The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America...."  U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 1.

The United States Code,  3 U.S.C. § 301, authorizes the President to delegate his power to the heads of executive departments and agencies.  The traditional role of the Executive Branch is to manage government programs and enforce the law.  There are 14 major departments and a myriad of independent agencies whose function is to assist the President by developing and implementing government policies backed by law.  This page links to key resources under the Executive Branch.
