SITE NAVIGATION TIPS :: We have designed this web site to make it as easy as possible for our small business visitors to navigate its pages.  After loading the home page there are very few large graphic files to slow down your computer.  Note that a majority of the links on this website point to resources that are hosted by other websites.  (In most cases, clicking on a link to an outside resource will open a new window).

Following are tips to help you get around quickly and efficiently.  You must have "JavaScript" enabled on your browser to benefit fully from the functionality of this site.

Targets the beginning of the page section in which you may be interested.  (Click for demonstration.)

Always takes you back to the opening page of the Federal Access web site.  (Click for demonstration.)

Always targets the page-header.  (Click for demonstration.)

In most cases, this image links you to a printer-friendly version of the page which you are viewing.  (Click left for demonstration).  In some cases, particularly in the secure areas of this site, clicking the print image (click Print here) activates your browser's print dialogue box (JavaScript required).

Targets a page outside our web site.  Used when there is more information on our web site about the targeted web site.  For example:

Clicking on the words "Department of Energy" will link you to additional information about the Department of Energy on the Federal Access web site.  Clicking on » will take you directly to the Department of Energy web site.

HOME :: AA :: BB ::  This "threaded header" format helps you back-track to the home page along the path leading to any page on our website. Click on links in the threaded header to navigate levels on the site along the path to the page you are on.  For example:

HOME :: RESOURCES :: GOVERNMENT WEB SITES ::
FEDERAL EXECUTIVE BRANCH :: The U.S. Constitution vests in the President the Power of the Executive Branch ...

The threaded header in this example indicates that you are on a page about the "Federal Executive Branch."  This page links from the page on "Government Web Sites," which in turn links from the "Resources" page.  Click on "Government Web Sites," "Resources," or "Home" to visit each level along the path leading up to this page.  Note: the threaded header does not always indicate the actual path you took to arrive at a particular page.  To retrace your path to a referrer page, use your browser's "Back" button (or the "Back" link at the bottom of each page.)

Many of the links on this site connect directly to Adobe "PDF" files.  Adobe Acrobat is the Internet standard for PDF document posting and retrieval. To view PDF documents, you need the Acrobat Reader plug-in.  If you don't have Acrobat Reader, get it now.  We promise - it will make the surfing process more user-friendly.

10/05/2001.  We are adding a new symbol ( ) for documents that link directly to PDF files.  Does not necessarily apply for PDF files posted before this date.

In addition to the circular buttons at the top of each page, you can use the Navigation Bar (see below) at the bottom of each page to quickly move around our site.
