PRIVATE CERTIFIERS ::  Under 13 CFR 124.1003, a Private Certifier is an organization or business concern approved by U.S. Small Business Administration to determine whether firms are owned and controlled by one or more individuals claiming disadvantaged status.  The SBA refers prospective applicants to Private Certifiers for assistance in completing Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) Program applications.  Private Certifiers are permitted by regulation to charge fees for their services.  The SBA is charged by regulation with maintaining a list of Private Certifiers.

Federal Access was approved as a Private Certifier when the SDB Program was implemented in 1999.  Although the original contract term for all Private Certifiers has expired, the SBA continues to refer prospective SDB applicants to Private Certifiers for assistance.  Bookmark this page for updates on the Private Certifier Program.
